FILM TRANSFER TO DVD OR VIDEO

FACT: Half of all movies made before 1950 are gone!
Don't let this happen to your old film and videos -
Let Us Transfer Your Precious Memories to DVD!

Protect your memories! AV-Workshop can transfer your old 8mm film to DVD. Also, we can transfer Super 8 film to DVD and 16mm film with or without sound to DVD or videotape. We ask that you number the reels in order from 1 - X. The film-reels will be assembled onto larger reels for ease of transferring and storage at which time the film will be cleaned and lubricated with anti-static solvent. Once onto larger reels the film is transferred through an aerial capture method utilizing a 3CCD digital camera and digital recorder. This is where our economy film transfer process ends and where our standard or enhanced film transfer process begin.

Our standard film transfer process includes everything from our economy film transfer process as well as digital color correction. We digitize your film into our editing system and color correct your film so that it looks more natural. Most film has a tint to it that makes it look blue, red, yellow, or even purple. Our standard film transfer process corrects this. With the use of sophisticated digital tools such as our digital vector scope, we analyze your film (which is now digital) and balance the color scene by scene. For example, if you had an indoor scene that ended where an outdoor scene began, we would color correct them independently. Our standard film transfer process does not correct for exposure problems. However, our standard film transfer process does produce video that is sharper, clearer, and more vivid than the economy transfer process.

Our enhanced film transfer process includes everything from our standard film transfer process with more attention to detail as well as brightness and contrast correction to improve exposure problems where the film may be too dark or too bright. Also, we correct speed differences in the film / audio as well as picture orientation where the film may have been flipped or sideways. Our enhanced film transfer process improves your film as much as possible; as a result, your memories will look better than ever and will be there for generations to come! Check below for a sample.

Testimonial

"Scott,
Wow, I just want to tell you how pleased I am with the DVD you produced from my Super 8 film. This was very precious film for my wife and I as it covered our twin sons' life, and was taken 27 years ago. Before I brought my film to you, I had it transferred to a DVD by another well known Bay Area company. I wasn't happy with the quality. It was out of focus and didn't include the full frame of the film. I brought my film to you with the hope of getting improved quality. Although your DVD was a little more expensive than the first one I had made, the quality of your product was far superior - like the difference between night and day and to top it off, your personal service was Great!

My wife and I are extremely grateful for the service you provided and would not hesitate to recommend Audio Video Workshop transfer service to our friends."

"Dear Scott and Joe,
Finding you was like discovering a treasure of skill and personal attention. We entrusted you with our old families films from the '60s and '70s, and you created heirloom DVDs with appropriate music and esthetic titles that thrilled our children and grandchildren. Then you created crystal-clear digital files from our old audio tapes.

Thank you for helping us pass forward our family story, and for your personal and technical excellence."
