Recently, a very famous professional athlete brought his video
collection to Audio Video Workshop to be transferred to DVD. He said he
had been referred to us by a friend and didn’t want to bring his
precious and personal memories to just anyone who may expose his
personal information or worse, make copies of his collection to be
sold, broadcast, leaked to any of the many media outlets that are out
there.
It occurred to me that while we have been doing our work at
Audio Video Workshop confidentially all these years, it is more
important than ever that a high profile person’s personal memories do
not get into the wrong hands. With Youtube, twitter, facebook and the
like at anyone’s fingertips I can see why someone may be afraid to
hand over their video collection to a complete stranger.
