Ben Lomond, CA Info:

Ben Lomond is a census-designated place in Santa Cruz County, California, United States, and also the name of the mountain to the west. The mountain was named by John Burns, a Scot who settled on the west side of the ridge in 1851. Burns named the mountain after one in Scotland. Ben Lomond means “beacon peak” in Gaelic. Burns became one of the first vintners in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and is usually also credited with naming the community of Bonny Doon. The San Lorenzo River watershed contains extensive forests of Coast redwood, and was an early center of the logging/lumber industry in Santa Cruz County. The community was originally known as Pacific Mills, after a sawmill operation located there. When, in 1887, the community applied for a U.S. Post Office, residents voted to adopt the name of the mountain

Reviews:
  • Excellent work done in a timely fashion. Considering the age of my 16mm reels, the color quality is amazing. Wow, I could even see their wrinkles!!  Everyone in these films has passed on, but the memories of their existence can now be passed on for generations.

Converting old film to Blu Ray DVD requires the latest tech equipment if you want it done right. They have it. I highly recommend them.

  • Took in 16, 8 mm Cassettes that were filmed from 1988 to 2005. My video camera was no longer working so I was not sure what was on the tapes. I wanted to make three copies, one for each of my children as Christmas presents. Scott put together three DVD sets plus a master in 3 weeks. The picture quality and sound were excellent. He put two, 8 pack DVD cases together with pictures of my children on the DVD cases. The DVD’s were numbered and in order based on the dates on my original tapes. Very happy with the quality and price.

  • The DVD was the “cherry on top” of the entire evening! Doug loved it! He had tears in his eyes the entire time and then cried when he heard the kids messages at the end. To look back on your life and feel so proud and blessed is the best gift ever. Thank you so much for putting it all together for us! I bet you make so many people happy.

PS- I think I have watched the DVD about 100 times. Seriously, I love it!

  • A note I recently sent to the team at Audio Video Workshop after completing a project for my folks’ 50th Wedding Anniversary:

“What an amazing job. The piece was so well done. Attention to detail really showed.
Scans were right on and the film transfer/color correction was outstanding.
We are so happy with it. Really made the night!! People loved it. Many folks in the film were in attendance.
Thank you AGAIN for being so accommodating. You hooked us up!
Hope to work with you again soon.”
